Calle Hamre and Simen Walle

Calle Hamre is vocalist and songwriter in the Norwegian band Butterfly Garden that played at Give Music a Chance 2017. Butterfly Garden was formed in the mid 90’s, and released a number of records together. Calle has also been a member of the bands Kong Klang and the Owens. He is a songwriter and has also played and written with artists like Gest from Spetakkel, Ida Maria, Kine Nesheim and St. Morritz. Calle is just finished with his solo album “But my love goes to eleven…”  produced by Ken Stringfellow, known from bands like The Posies, Big Star as well as studio and live musician with R.E.M.

Simen Walle is a 19 years old guitar player from Bergen, Norway who writes songs and sings out of this world. Simen is a student at the Grieg Music Academy in Bergen for aspiring musicians. His first big appearance was at age 15 when he made the finals at the Norway Got Talent on TV. His musical interests are varied and you can find him playing jazz improvisation, blues or even playing with big band. Simen released his first single “Fear as a friend” in November 2016 and is currently working on his first album, with Calle Hamre as producer. Simen Walle is an amazing live artist, and it seems as if he has never done anything else but stand on a stage. Expect to hear more from Simen in 2018.

Calle and Simen will share a stage together at Give Music a Chance and will be joined by their friend William Hut and his pianist Jens Kristian Rimau.
